DISNEYLAND
Oh my goodness! Yesterday, Tuesday, June 4 2013 Evan had his first trip to Disneyland! Steve, Mom, Dad, Evan and I all went to Disneyland and California Adventure. It was the best! I am trying to type up everything now while it is still fresh. We arrived at the park about 9:00. The park opened at 8, but with traffic and parking it just took a while. We went straight to California Adventure and got Fast Passes for the World Of Color. Aunt Irene suggested this. =) By the way, World Of Color was very cool. Evan enjoyed it. After the fast passes we went to Disneyland, there Evan met Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse. He LOVED the characters. He kept touching their faces. Daddy was wearing his Veteran hat and Minnie Mouse went up to him to shake his hand, it was pretty cool. After pictures with Donald and Minnie we headed to the Jungle Cruise. We had a really good guide, Evan enjoyed the Jungle Cruise. Evan enjoyed everything about our day. Although he really didn't care for the Toy Story ride in California Adventure, but he handled it well. Okay, after the Jungle Cruise was Pirates of the Caribbean. Evan didn't care for it as much as the other rides, but grandma kept him entertained and pointed out the animals. Oh where did we go after that? Um, I think we went to Winnie the Pooh. That was fun for him, especially when we got into Pooh's dream which was very colorful. After that we got on the train. We took it around the whole park. I enjoyed when we got to go by Splash Mountain. I was excited to see those characters because I was not able to go on Splash Mountain this time since I am pregnant with Claire. Evan also liked the train ride, he of course enjoyed seeing the animals. We rode through the whole park and got off at ToonTown. Evan was tired and cranky by then and had no interest in ToonTown. So we went to go get lunch. Oh, and through the whole day Evan wanted only grandma. He wanted to be held while we were looking for a place for lunch, I was carrying him while he cried, then I handed him to grandma and he stopped crying. He soon fell asleep so she put him in his stroller and he woke up. So she held him while he slept through lunch. What a turkey he is. He took a short nap and after lunch we went to the Tikki Room. OH he LOVED the Tikki Room. He jumped when the thunder crashed, but he LOVED everything else. I had the best time just watching him look at all the birds and watching him smile and clap and dance. I could have spent the rest of the day in there with him. After the Tikki Room I think we did Small World. I'm trying to remember if we did Small World first or the Tea Cups. He liked Small World, all the singing and the characters. Oh, but he especially LOVED the popcorn we bought. This was his first time having popcorn and oh did he enjoy it. He just would grab a handful and shove it into his mouth. Steve, Evan and I were the only ones to go on the Tea Cups. Evan liked it, he helped daddy turn the wheel. After that it was off to California Adventure where we immediately got in line for Disney Jr. It was a fun little show for the kids. They had Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia, Doc McStuffins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Evan really enjoyed it, he did get a little tired by the time they got to Jake. He sat on mommy's lap for the majority of it, but when he got cranky he went to grandma. We all sat on the hard floor. By the time the show was over the 4 of us were hurting. After the show we got smoothies and went on Monsters Inc. Oh, I forgot to mention, before we left Disneyland we did a little shopping, I bought Evan a Monsters Inc. shirt and me a Grumpy shirt. Grandma bought Evan a Disneyland onesie. Okay, after Monsters Inc. we headed to A Bugs Land because there is a place for the kids to play in the water. OH man that was the BEST. Aunt Irene told me about this place so I came prepared. I brought water diapers, extra clothes, extra shoes and a towel. So mom and I took Evan to the bathroom and got him ready to play in the water. Oh he had a BLAST!!! Water shoots up out of the ground. Water starts to spray out of sections of the ground, there is a pattern to it. Evan had soooo much fun. We LOVED watching him, we all laughed so hard. Evan would purposefully stand where the water shot out and it would spray him really good. He was cold and soaked by the time he was done. I'm not sure how much time we spent there, but we quickly took his wet clothes off and put him in a towel and put dry clothes on him. After the water we went on a ride in Bug's Land. We went on the Caterpillar Ride. It was super short, but Evan sat with Steve and I and enjoyed it. After that we caught the Pixar Parade which Evan enjoyed from his stroller, and fell asleep. I could tell he was tired because he was happy watching the parade, but kind of just not completely into it. So, since he was asleep we decided to go on the Mali Boomer. Well, I was not going on the Mali Boomer, but it is my mom's favorite ride, so we headed over there only to discover it was gone. Apparently they had to get rid of it because it was sinking. Boy was my mom bummed. So we went to have some burgers for dinner. Just as mom and Steve were bringing dinner over Evan woke up. We ate our dinner and headed to Toy Story. The ride was just a little rougher than I remembered. It throws you around a little. Oh, by the time we sat for dinner I was sore. My lower back was really bothering me. I took something to help and I think it finally kicked in after Toy Story. I think I am putting everything in the right order, but it may be slightly off. After Toy Story we got our spots for World of Color. I was ready to leave while we were in line for Toy Story, but I was there for Evan and very much wanted to watch him enjoy the World of Color. We sat on the ground for 30 minutes and then they asked us all to stand so they could fit more people. After another 30 minutes the show started. Evan was mesmerised by the whole thing. According to a park employee the show is 35 minutes long. After the show we headed straight for the car. Which of course took a long time because it was crowded and we had to exit the park, get on the tram, and then walk to the car. Evan fell asleep in Papa's arms. We laid him in his stroller and he stayed sleeping. We made our way to the car and Evan slept the whole way home. We got him home, into a dry diaper and in bed where he slept until 7am. And that is Evan's first day at Disneyland. My dad took pictures and I will be posting them later.

Thursday, June 28, 2012
Okay, it has been way too long since my last blog. Evan is 6 months old today and wonderful. He has been sleeping in his room for a while now and getting good at it. I think he is starting to teethe though. He has been a bit more fussy lately. He is eating baby food now. My mom bought me a baby bullet, which is a wonderful product that allows you to make and store your own baby food. So far Evan has had rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes and zucchini. He loves it all. He rolls over both ways, sits up with some help. He is wonderful and has such personality. He is a chatter box, especially in the morning and at bath time. He LOVES bath time. We have put him in the pool and he enjoys that too. I am enjoying being home with him during the summer. Once the school season starts Evan with stay with his grandma while I am at work. The times we have needed a baby sitter it is always one of the grandmas to watch him. He loves going to see both his grandmas. His Uncle Eric will be here the week of 4th of July, I am sure he will be excited to see him.

First time sleeping in his own room
Well, tonight we are going to see how Evan sleeps in his own room, and how mommy sleeps without Evan in her room. I have this feeling he will be just fine, and me on the other hand, may not sleep so well tonight. His room is right by our room and we have a baby monitor, so I will be able to hear him well.
Things have been going good with Steve working from home and me going to work. I have my 4 hours at work and then I get to come home to my favorite boys. Evan is usually a very happy baby, we are very blessed. He is holding his head up on his own, during tummy time he can lift his head. I can't think of a whole lot of exciting things.
We spent the evening with some wonderful friends on Friday night while my parents took care of Evan, Evan did awesome and we had a great time with our friends. I still cannot believe he is already 3 months old, the time is going by so fast.
Evan is animated, he loves checking everything out and never wants to miss out on anything, in fact, he will fight falling asleep because he wants to be where all the action is. I love being a mommy, it has changed my world, and I just love it.
Evan enjoys bath time and naked time very much. He will be fussy, and the minute you strip him down, he knows bath time is coming and he stops being fussy. Steve and I give him a bath together, which is nice together time for the 2 of us. I have learned how important it is to set time aside for just Steve and I. The only thing that is weird to me is now we have to schedule time for the two of us to give attention to only each other. We make it work. =)
I think that is it for now. I will try to post again soon to let you know how tonight went with Evan sleeping in his room.

Back at Work
Well, I have been back at work for 2 weeks now and this week I am on Spring Break. Steve has a most wonderful boss who is letting him work from home for the next 8 weeks. So going back to work wasn't too hard. It is easier being at work knowing Evan is home with his daddy. I am only working 4 hours a day, so that makes things a bit easier too. I love coming home from work to see my husband and son. Evan is getting so big, he can hold his head up by himself, he still gets a little tired sometimes and his head just kind of flops down. He is a happy baby most of the time.
Steve and I had our first date night since Evan was born. My parents watched him for the few hours we were at dinner. At first it was REALLY weird being in the car without Evan. But we were able to enjoy our evening. Thank you again Mom & Dad.
Evan loves mirrors, he enjoys looking at the baby in the mirror. Oh he is so much fun, we are at that stage where we can play. He's still trying to figure out how his hands work, but I really think he will be grabbing things on his own very soon.
Evan is only on breast milk. I pump every morning before work, and when I get home from work. So Steve is able to give Evan a bottle whenever he needs it. I am starting to know what a cow feels like though, being on a pumping schedule is already getting tiring.
Well, Evan's cry is telling me I am done with the blogging for now.

7 Weeks
I cannot believe Evan is 7 weeks old today. Now that the first month is gone things are getting easier in mommyhood. I have gotten used to how often he has to eat, sleep, and needs a diaper changed. I still don't find much time of my own, and when I do I spend it getting myself ready or housework. Ugh, speaking of I need to go get clothes out of the dryer. I only feel like I have a few moments to post a blog.
I am not looking forward to going back to work. I go back March 5th, then Steve will be able to stay home with Evan. It is going to be hard not spending all day with Evan, plus, it's going back to work. But I am trying to have a positive attitude.
Even though things are getting easier we still have our days. Most of the time Evan will sleep for a good 4-5 hours at night in one stretch. However, last night he was up every other hour. Ugh that makes the nights rough. Also, yesterday he pooped and it went all over in his diaper and onesie. All of a sudden it was bath time. I do my best to treasure every moment, all the phases.
Well, I should end this because I still have more things to do.

January 22
Evan is 3 weeks old now, we had a doctor visit on the 20th. It was just to check his weight and make sure his circumcision was healing correctly. Evan is up to 7pds 14oz. The doctor was happy with the weight gain and we don't have to go back again until his 2 month check up. Evan is usually a very happy baby except for when he is hungry, or tired. The days at home are getting easier with Evan, he seems to be most content when he is being held. Now that he has gained more weight I can use the baby carrier with him, which is nice because then I can do things around the house while he is attached to me. He seems most happy when he is near somebody.
This weekend has been a bit rough, Steve came home on Friday with the flu. Steve has not been able to hold Evan which has not been easy for him, or me. One of the things I enjoy about the weekend is Steve helps take care of Evan. Don't get me wrong, I love Evan and love taking care of him, but sometimes it is nice to have some time to myself while someone else takes care of him. However, my mom has been coming over everyday and holds Evan, which makes her happy, and me happy too.

Three Weeks
Tomorrow Evan will be 3 weeks old. It has been a wonderful adventure having a baby. For those of you who followed my pregnancy blog, you know the labor story. Labor was not fun, but so worth it. Evan and I have been spending the past 3 weeks just getting used to each other. We have finally gotten to a regular schedule with each other and I am able to find some time to myself to get a few things done, such as starting this blog.
Evan is absolutely amazing, he gets cuter everyday. Most of the time he is a very good baby, he gets fussy when he's hungry or needs to be changed. I have to admit I feel like he is always eating, It makes it difficult to do things because I constantly have him attached to me. I have only been breastfeeding. Next month we will start to feed him with a bottle, we have not started bottle feeding yet because we don't want to cause nipple confusion.
Night time has actually been really good. I keep Evan in the bed with me while I feed him. He sleeps best when I keep him next to me. I am slowly trying to get him to sleep in his cradle. Last night I was actually able to transfer him to his cradle without any issue. It's hard because he makes lots of little sounds while he sleeps and I hear them all. I constantly lay there and wonder if he's going to wake up. Most nights Evan falls asleep around 11 and sleeps until 3am, then I change his diaper and feed him, then he sleeps until 6, I change his diaper and feed him again, then he sleeps until around 10. I feel like I am getting enough sleep, I will try to take naps with Evan in the afternoons if I can.
That is about all I have time to write for now. Evan is awake and I need to take care of him.
